Christie’s
Rockefeller Center, New York, NY

Christie’s at Rockefeller Center was created out of a 1930’s parking garage. It was a concrete encased steel structure typical of the early high-rise construction techniques forming a maze of up & down ramps, a forest of columns, and minimal slab to slab heights. As project architect at Gensler, Belinda was responsible for leading the Gensler team in establishing the space program, developing design and construction strategies to create a large double height auction room, exhibition galleries, loading docks, on-site storage, and offices, while maintaining parking spaces in the basement levels.
